Online lessons with a pro educator

Hi! My name is Paul Sarafin. I’m a musician with an equal passion for education. I have been formally trained in both fields, with separate bachelor’s degrees in both Music -AND- Education.

In the spring of 2002 I graduated with a degree in music (George Fox University) and returned home to Anchorage, AK. In the public setting, I was as a general classroom, music and special education teacher. Teaching in the public schools there I discovered how much I loved to teach!

I have extensive experience teaching all ages, with a variety of temperaments and learning styles.

For 20 years I have owned and operated a guitar teaching studio, utilizing a third passion: technology in the field of education! Over this time I have served a variety of exceptional learners, from the highly gifted to individuals with significant learning challenges. I have extensive experience teaching all ages with a variety of temperaments and learning styles.

As practitioner of the Suzuki Method teacher (registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas), I have participated in numerous institutes and trainings with the SAA. I was the director of the Alaska Suzuki Guitar Workshop, and have hosted multiple teacher training events in Alaska.

Most importantly, I see myself as a warm-hearted and patient educator who finds great satisfaction in sharing the gift of music with others!
